We all want it. We all crave it. And as a matter of fact, we need it to function. But many of us are searching for love in the wrong places. Instead of looking for love to come from people or things, our desire to be loved should come from The Lord.
Reading over Lamentations 3:19-24 (key verses from the most current series at church) has really opened my eyes to how love should be and who it should come from. I've always seen graphics with the message detailing how "humans can't be satisfied by anyone other than the One who created them". This simple quote that I've seen numerous times didn't fully make sense until I read over verses 22 thru 24 of Lamentations chapter 3.
The Lord's love for me is steadfast, never-ending, new each and every single day, and merciful. Stop and think about that for a moment. From who or what else can we receive steadfast, never-ending, merciful love from on this Earth? Only The Lord. (Dogs may be a close second).
As humans, we are driven by our flesh and our feelings more than our spirit. We have to learn and understand that The Lord's love for us is like nothing else out there! It's more than we could ever ask for and is what will make us whole.
