Since my travel excursions have been put on hold for a few months I finally have time to share with you all what I deem as travel necessities! I always carry these items with me when I travel and believe me, they have helped me through many flight delays, cross country flights and planes full of chatty Cathys.
Major key for frequent travelers? Keep hydrated! Of course it's ok to have your coffee, tea or soda but try not to make a habit of it. I bought this exact water bottle at my local TJ Maxx and I take it every where. It's the perfect size and is really great for when I travel across the country. Going from semi-humid air down here in Alabama to the dry air of California reeks havoc on my skin, so I have to be sure to increase my water intake. The best part? It has a filter! Anything "public" gives me the hee bee jeebies (thing restrooms, chairs, water fountains) so knowing that my water gets filter one more time puts me at ease.
When you end up almost stranded outside of Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA at 11:00 pm after an international friendly game, you finally realize the next thing you need to purchase is a battery case for your cell phone. I'm not kidding! My phone was on 2% when I finally found my Uber driver in the chaos! I snagged mine while it was on sale for $19.99 but no matter how much (or little) you choose to spend, it's a worth while investment!
Books! I love to read and what better time to do so when you're on a 3 hour flight? I picked up Mindy Kaling's newest book, Why Not Me? a few weeks ago and can't wait to dive in. I know we like to watch our shows while 30,000+ feet in the air, but cracking open a new book is so much better!
Aren't we glad there is such a thing as noise canceling/wireless/ and just headphones in general? Because we always need a method to escape from the constant humming noise of the plane or that overly chatty person sitting next to us. Luckily, you can find headphones/earbuds in any style at practically all price ranges. Be sure to grab yours before your next flight!
Of course I always carry an apple with me when I travel, but I also have to have something sugary! M&M's and a cookies & cream Hershey bar are my go to!!
I always take a camera with me when I travel! Even though I carry my DSLR with me I wanted something not as bulky and basic to use. I purchased this Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 recently and really like it. I have to be honest here, sometimes I just want to have a picture for myself--not posted on social media!
After a day of traveling the first thing I do when I de-board is reach for these exfoliating pads to give my skin a bit of a boost! They're great for getting rid of excess oil and dirt. Plus, they smell great and don't leave your skin feeling dry afterwards. *These have recently been discontinued, but if you scour the internet long enough you can find them!
What are some of your travel necessities?
