Have you ever experienced multiple coincidences before? Like, you're thinking about something and then something coincidentally happens after you've been thinking about it? Weird, right? I'll be the first to say, I experience quite a bit of deja vu. I don't know why or how. I guess I can attribute it to my 'dreamy' nature. But ever since I've been working on living in the moment, a lot more coincidental things have been happening.
Take today for example. I was watching an episode of Orange Is the New Black (season 2) and one of the inmates mentioned her experience with WWOOFing. What is WWOOFing you ask? Well, WWOOFing is what I was looking up on the internet Friday afternoon. It's a farming initiative that allows volunteers to practically travel for free. It's set up like a barter system. You pay a small membership fee, get up with a host in the country of your choice, pay to get there, and stay for a short duration working on a farm. In turn, the host family agrees to shelter and feed you. It's a great way to travel around the globe and really see how individuals live life.
So coincidentally, after researching WWOOF, the one episode I decide to watch mentions it! Crazy, right!
But that's not the only coincidence. Just a moment ago, I decided to log back on to Instagram (after 28+ days avoiding it). Well, what do I see? All of my former peers, friends, and sorority sisters 'living life'. Packing up and moving to new places, working dream jobs, and experiencing all that life has to offer. And for a moment, I felt sad. Selfish, rather. I was in a moment of self pity. Asking, "Why can't I be out there traveling, meeting new people, experiencing new things?" Gosh. I hate when I do that.
I decided to log back out, and pick up The Cather in the Rye. I've been trying to read it for about a month now, but I can't get past the start of chapter 3. And that's when it struck again. Coincidence. Literally, I'm reading along and I get to a part that reads, "...when he was in some kind of trouble or something, to get right down on his knees and pray to God. He said we should always pray to God- to talk to Him and all- wherever we were."
In this case, I don't think it was coincidence as much as it was divine intervention. I'm pretty sure God set me up to read it. It totally hit me. That's why I had to get here an tell you all. I originally wanted to tell my best friend about how I'm so ready to move and experience life and ask "Why hasn't God taken me somewhere new yet?", but before I could do that, I picked up Cather in the Rye. God served it to me real good. And, it doesn't help that I read a devotion about praying before running to someone and spilling out your problems.
I have to constantly remind myself, that I am exactly where I am suppose to be in life at this exact moment. God could sling me to Australia tomorrow morning if He really wanted to! But I'm slowly learning, it's ok. I have to learn to crawl before I can walk. That things take time to come to fruition. I'm ridiculously blessed right now. I have a loving family who allowed me to move back in with them, I just got offered a great entry-level job, and I get a hot meal every single day. I seriously can not fathom the number of people who don't have what I have. And there's no reason for me to complain about it or ask for more. In due time, God will bless me.
But for now, I will continue to live peacefully and with much thanks. I will continue to add more work and not just rely solely on my faith. I will be a humble huslter, if you can call it that? Lol.
I just have to remember to stay humble and remain thankful, because in due time, God will bless me with more than I can ever imagine.
Style. Everyone has it. It's what makes us unique. I prefer outfits (like the one above) for everyday wear. It's relaxed and comfy, yet still makes sense. That's how I'd describe my style-- relaxed and comfy, yet still makes sense. I like to have pieces that fit together. Think of it like a puzzle. All the pieces fit together effortlessly. I guess that's another way to describe my style-- effortless. Not in the sense that it just all fell together that way without any thought, but in the sense that the pieces, after much thought, coordinate quite nicely.
Now, I don't own a single Item in the picture above (Thanks Pinterest!), but I plan on purchasing and incorporating these same items into my wardrobe soon enough. Let me take a second to define my style evolution.
Since I'm still hanging around my parents' house job hunting, I thought I'd share my bucket list! It's kind of like my 25 before 25 list except on a more intense scale.
This is just what I could think of the past few days. I'm sure once I get some exposure to the real world again, I'll be able to think of more things to do.
On another note, can I tell you all about all the Latin/Spanish music I've been listening to lately? I'm not really sure why. I would say it's because I'm watching the FIFA World Cup daily, but that wouldn't make a lot of sense, because the World Cup is in Brazil...where they speak Portuguese. I guess it's because I'm researching a lot of the Spanish speaking countries teams' players (grammar check please? Where's the ownership suppose to go lol?). Ah, well. I'm definitely enjoying all new Latin stations I've added to my Pandora playlist. I'm currently addicted to the Sin Bandera, Noel Scharjis, and Luis Fonsi stations.
So yeah. I'm done here. I just wish I could give you all more but I don't have much to give right now. Hopefully I'll get out of the house soon. Once I do, I'll be sure to chronicle what's going on. Until then, just bear with me! I'll be posting about my style evolution tomorrow morning (I promise it'll be before 10 am!!)
Despite waking up much later than I intended, I've been having an amazing morning so far. I hope everyone else's day is going just as well! Just a few tid bits before I highlight some of the newest blogs I've been reading lately:
If you've ever googled 'how to create monogrammed laptop wallpaper', you probably ended up at The College Prepster. I did, and I haven't looked back since. Now living in New York, Carly highlights her personal life there, business ventures and great products. Be sure to explore her blog soon! It's one of my daily reads.
I stumbled over this website via Instagram about a month ago and I'm really loving it! Finally, someone my age is blogging about their post-grad life, fashion and work life! I found this blog via Pinterest and I'm so glad I did. McKenna's travels around the world have me in awe! She and her husband spent and entire summer living and traveling across EUROPE!! How cool is that?! Her photos are amazing and probably don't even do the European countryside justice. McKenna also has great interior decorating and personal style. It's great to see someone rock a tutu so effortlessly!
I hope you all enjoy these blogs as much as I do! Have a great Tuesday! See you tomorrow as I detail what's on my Bucket List!! Yay!!
