Oh, well hello there! So happy to be back on the blog again. It's a new season (literally & metaphorically) in life for me and I'm fully embracing it.
Since my last post in July, I left my most recent job, packed up everything in a U-Haul and moved back to Tuscaloosa to start working on my Master's degree. I'm so happy to have my own space again but even happier that I'm positioning myself for success!
Graduate school is in full swing and it's nothing like undergrad! I mean, I don't think I've ever read this much in my entire life. Not to mention all the outside preparation that's required. Grad school is like having a full-time job! I get to class at 8am or 9:30am and typically don't leave campus until 5pm. Overall, I'm overjoyed and wouldn't mind staying in the library all night if I had to!
As a business student, we have to dress in business casual daily. It makes total sense since we'll be in various business settings after graduation. The look above is a bit dressier than what I normally wear to class, but it's great for presentation days! You'll notice this year that my style posts will now consists of more business casual looks in addition to my everyday and Gameday looks!
I've decided that my business casual style will be a mix of my easy going style and the effortless business style of Rachel Zane (aka Meghan Markle's character on Suits). I'll be sure to link lots of options for you all down below!

Like always, be sure to follow me on social media (links are in the side bar) and here on the blog as I continue to enjoy this new phase of life! I've got a few style post coming up this week along with a travel/weekend recap post!
Happy Monday! Just wanted to share with you all a few of my recent purchases over the past month in preparation for Fall and this coming Winter. I purchased most of these items either on sale or with a coupon code, so they shouldn't burn a hole through your wallet!
I finally splurged on this Patagonia down jacket-- and I use the word splurge very lightly here. I scoured the internet for this perfect puffer jacket and ended up getting mine from Amazon for $279 but I've linked it here for a sale price of $195. Since it's a down coat, it's packed with feathers to keep you warm. I wore this jacket the entire time I was in Pittsburgh and stayed super toasty! The material seems pretty durable and I'm sure this jacket will last me for years to come!
Are these boots not sick?!?!?!?!?! Over the Knee boots have really picked up this year and I can understand why! They come in all sorts of fabrics, colors, heel heights, and styles. I decided to stick to a more classic style with a slightly chunkier heel, lace up detailing and suede fabric. I wasn't too eager to shell out $$$ for a pair of Stuart Weitzman pair of OTK boots, so I kept searching for a more reasonably priced pair. I order this pair from ASOS during their Black Friday promotion but they have unfortunately sold out since then (but still available in taupe). If you're still on the hunt, check out these options here (under $100 + free shipping), here (free shipping + additional 25% off), here (free shipping), and here ($50!!!). Enjoy!
My aunt got me this bag while I was in Pittsburgh and I'm so thankful she did. I always end up bringing back lots of souvenirs and new purchases whenever I travel and my other satchels and totes can't always hold it all. This tote is huge but still small enough to fold over and fit underneath the seat in front of you on the plane! Plus, you practically get two bags for one since it's reversible. They're on sale now for $22. Go ahead and grab a few!!
This felt fedora from Aldo Shoes is actually one of my all time favorite purchases. It was one of those purchases that you consider in the store, walk away, then come back and get! It's such a beautiful bordeaux color and the rim is fairly stiff (I'm not a floppy hat kind of girl.) I picked this hat up while i was in Pittsburgh and I kid you not, this one guy kept asking if I wanted to sell it to him! He had to have asked me about six or seven times! I haven't found the right outfit to wear it with just yet, but believe me, when I do I'll be sure to post about it here!
I was desperate for a new purse while out in San Diego and picked up the one above from Forever21 while I was out there. It's no longer available online but I've linked a few more stylish and similar options below!
I hope this serves as a little "pick me up" for you all today! Have a good one and I'll see you back here tomorrow for a new travel post!
It's Monday again, so that means an all new #SimplyMondayMusings post! I've had home decor and apartment styling on the brain as of lately and I'm really ready to get out of my current space and into someplace fresh & new. With that said, it's never too early to start planning, right?
I've got this thing for white furniture. It's crisp and clean, just the way I like it! Plus, it's an easy backdrop to add color, texture, and unique pieces to. Not to mention, it's far from overwhelming. It's a sleek look that never goes out of style.
Take a look at some of the things that are helping me define my home style!
Happy Monday loves!! I am currently en route to Alabama from Pennsylvania [travel post later this week!] and wanted to share a few good reads for you. Over the past few months, I have been on an estimated 20 flights and needless to say, I'm beginning to feel it in my body and soul. I'm having a blast traveling everywhere, but man it really can take a toll on your body. Not to mention, I've missed a few too many 8am Sunday morning church services. But instead of wallowing in my aches and pains, I've decided to combat it!
If you know me, you know I was a 'yogi' back in college. Seriously! I attended 1-2 yoga classes on a weekly basis during undergrad. *Gosh I miss college. I loved it a ton but eventually fell out of it when classes required more attention and post-graduation. I've decided to get back into the flow. I actually saw Yoga Girl in Target a few days ago but it was priced at $20+. Needless to say, I left it on the shelf and found it on Amazon for $13. Once I get back into the yoga flow, I'm sure my bones won't be as achy from all my plane rides!
One thing that doesn't get my achy is reading. I'm almost finished with Pastor Brian Houston's book, Live Love Lead, and it truly is a great read! It's in no way a substitute for church or delving deeper into His word, but instead, it's a great addition. And now that Pastor Rich Wilkerson, Jr.'s book, Sandcastle Kings is available for pre-order, it looks like I'll have enough material to fill me up spiritually while up in the sky. I'm so excited to read both of these books and use them in addition to other material.
It seems like we're always on the go nowadays, so finding time to take care of our physical and spiritual selves can be taxing. Take some time to find things that help re-fill your body & soul!

Can you believe November is here already? That means department stores now have all the Christmas decor out and 2016 is literally right around the corner. Or, if you're like me, you're thinking the start of this month is an opportunity to "get it right" again. As I get older, I'm trying to do more things with intention. There are so many things I plan to do, but I never really follow through. Obviously so, because I wasn't doing it with intention. So, with a whole month to go, I will be trying my best to do things with intention! Check out some of the things I plan on accomplishing this November below!
