Gahhhhh! Good morning! Can I take a second and tell you guys how awesome yesterday was? I mean, nothing amazing even happened but it was just great to have an awesome day after Saturday's debacle. When I say I don't require much in life, I really mean it. For example, I woke up before 8:00 am yesterday, completed my morning routine (I never complete my morning routine), crossed some crucial items off of my to-do list, and even had a pretty good phone interview. Yea, that's what an awesome day is for me. :)
Besides me having an awesome day yesterday, I have discovered a t.v. gem. It's tucked between TVLand and Fox News (I thought I got rid of that channel) and has enough shows that may center around the same topic, but highlights it from plenty of different viewpoints. Thank you Jesus for HGTV.
I'm kind of doing this "life cleanse" right now. Like, getting rid of useless apps on my phone, deleting tons of songs and Pandora radio stations, and now I'm filtering what I watch on t.v. too. (My "friends" have kind of filtered themselves, but that's another story for another day.) I don't know how I missed this channel! All the shows are about home improvement but they all come from different angles. There are shows about total renovations, partial renovations, backyard renovations, house hunting for first timers, and those who are seasoned homeowners. Some of my favorite shows include Property Brothers, Fixer Upper, and Property Virgins.
What's not to love about twin brothers helping you pick out and renovate your dream home? Jonathan and Drew Scott are seasoned vets in the real estate and renovation realm. They help individuals search for their perfect home, rip out the bad, and replace it with their wants and needs. If you can't get into the renovation aspect of the show, the free eye candy will keep you interested long enough!
This new HGTV show chronicles Chip & Joanna Gaines and their love of reviving old homes. They find some of the rattiest homes around, gut them out and redesign them. It's amazing to see the before and after images. Chips is great with the construction design and Joanna has amazing interior design skills!
When I watched the "Independence Day" episode of Property Virgins, I felt like Egypt Sherrod was helping me shop for a home! A recent college grad living back at home with her parents was looking for a cute, fun place of her own. Egypt gave her some amazing options and made her a first time home owner! I love this show because it gives individuals realistic options for their first home purchases.
I'm loving HGTV and it's definitely inspiring me when it comes to home decor and finding what I want and need in a home. Gosh, I should've been an interior design major! But, in this day and age, you can do whatever you want...you've just got to get some experience in it. Be sure to check out these HGTV shows! Have a great Tuesday afternoon. Stop by tomorrow...I think I've got something really good planned.
