September has clearly kicked off with a bang! Ever since Tuesday morning arrived, I have been going, going, going! Literally from sun up to sun down I'm either in the office working, at home studying for the GRE, or somewhere playing with Steeler. And today's only Wednesday. *Le sigh*. But I won't complain! This past Labor Day weekend really gave me the break I needed. And what did I do during my extended weekend you ask? Well, I'd just picked up my first "big girl" check, so I felt it was only right to help boost the economy by partaking in the numerous Labor Day weekend sales! From shoes, to dresses, to scarves and so much more, I have thoroughly ordered as much as my debit card could handle.
I finally snagged some books! Best sellers like If I Stay and The Fault In Our Stars were less than $10 at the local Wal-Mart, so I decided to get them both. I haven't seen the movies as of yet (not sure if I really will) but so far so good on the reading side. I picked up The One & Only because I liked the background of the story and the character. And can we talk about why the September issue of Vogue is just as big as my GRE book?? Seriously?! But if I remember correctly, this year's September issue is actually slightly smaller than last year or the 2012 September edition. Nevertheless, it's still huge!
I was able to pick up these sophisticated Shoe Cult by Nasty Gal mules on sale AND in my size on Monday. Whenever I can find a shoe in my size on sale, whether it's online or in store, I grab it right then. My foot is on the larger side, so it's difficult for me to find cute shoes without them looking awkward. Plus, I'm trying to amp up my feminine style, so what better way to do that than with sleek, black leather mule!?
I even purchased some great pieces to transition from summer into fall. I was able to get two scarves and a simple black dress from ASOS all on sale!!! The sale already includes items up to 75% + an additional %15 when you use the promo code SUMMERDONTGO. I spent less than $35 using the promo code SUMMERDONTGO and even received free shipping since my purchase was over $25. Be on the lookout for an outfit post on these items in a few weeks!
And because of my recent financial blessing, I was even able to buy my best friend a gift and surprise my parents with some cash. But the one thing I'm really excited for is for my ukelele to arrive. I've always played a wood wind instrument like the clarinet, or a percussion instrument like the piano. I've never played a stringed instrument, so this should be very interesting. I'll be sure to keep you all update on my progress.
Over all, my Labor Day weekend was much need and much appreciated. I hope all of you were able to enjoy yourself with friends, family, food, and lots of shopping! Be on the look out for an awesome and perfect for fall cupcake recipe on the blog tomorrow!
