It's Tuesday and I've got another style post for you! I love a good baseball cap and a game. Long story short, I got this hat at my first MLB game in Detroit, Michigan. My good friend Aeriel and I bought the tickets on a whim and made our way to the stadium after having lunch across the border in Canada. It was early June, hot as heck, but I had an absolute blast! Our seats gave us a perfect view of Downtown Detroit as well as the entire stadium. Even though the Tigers lost that night, I still really enjoyed myself and will always remember my first major league game.
If I could wear a baseball cap everyday I probably would. Most people throw them on when they're having a bad hair day or a if it's raining but hardly ever as a part of their actual outfit. Baseball caps are more than just a way to show off your school or team pride. They automatically give your outfit a more "undone" or "relaxed" feel to it. For exmple, I've worn the outfit above practically every other day this past Fall and it looks completely different without the hat. But when I add the baseball hat, it gives it such a cooler look.
Anybody else miss wearing their fave hats backwards like we did when we were in elementary school? Gosh I miss the 90s!
Any stories behind your fave baseball cap?
I finally caught on to the whole OTK (over the knee) boot trend and let me tell ya, I am loving it. I mean, what's not to love about them? They practically add two extra inches to the length of your legs! And even though I fluctuate between 5'8" and 5'9" (trust me, spinal compression/decompression makes all the difference) I would kill to be a solid 5'10". Because at that height I could be a Victoria's Secret Angel. Ok, maybe not. But a girl can dream, can't she?
I threw on a simple black top, a fun black & white jacket, a pair of skinny jeans and finished the look with my favorite pair of sunnies--the perfect look for a chilly January morning. I can't wait to pair these OTK boots with a fun dress next!
Have a great Thursday!
Hello loves! I hope you all are having an awesome Sunday so far. I love Sundays. It's the most relaxing day of the week for me. My Sunday routine includes attending the 8:00am church service, a quick hot breakfast once I return home, a mid-morning nap and then watching my Steelers take on their weekly opponent!
I think I've talked about this hat several times on the blog before but this is my first time wearing it--mainly due to it still being 65 degrees and higher all of December! I'd been looking for a stiff brim fedora for the longest and I was happy when I found this one while hanging out in Pittsburgh a few months ago.
I have a rather large head, so finding hats (without adjustable straps) is difficult. I saw this same hat in black and camel while shopping around in Aldo but because it wasn't in my size I had to grab this bordeaux one--which worked out for the best! I have yet to see anyone else with a felt fedora this color. SCORE!
Since I was just out running errands around town I threw on a black cable knit sweater, dark was jeans, and a pair of black chunky heeled booties. I've added some options below if you're in the market for any of the items I'm wearing! Have a great day!
It's already day 5 of 2016 and I'm still trying to get it together! Not everyone is a fan of New Year Resolutions, but I actually really like them. Deciding to do take on a new challenge, or attempt to change an area of your life is super commendable. For 2015, one of my resolutions was to donate $50 each month to charity. I was in a financially stable space and really felt led to help others. For 2016, I plan to continue to help charities but in other aspects-- like donating time and other resources other than money. But the resolution at the top of my list this year is to be more intentional in life.
With everything happening in the world now days, it can be hard to focus on being purposeful. Life moves at the speed of light nowadays and when we look back on it, do we really remember anything? I mean, come May I'll have been out of college for two years and high school for six! And to add insult to injury, I can't even remember what happened during the first half of 2015 other than me going to work everyday and bombing the GMAT three times. Le sigh.
Intention can be defined as many things: being purposeful, done on purpose, deliberate, etc.
Whatever tasks, opportunities, or challenges I encounter this year I want to put my all into it. I want to be deliberate in my decision-making. I want to make sure my time is spent well. I want and plan on living this short & beautiful life to the fullest! So instead of continuing on in my lazy habits of relaxing in bed all day, I'm going to study and practice Brazilian Portuguese. Instead of just scrolling through my Instagram feed every other hour, I'm going to use that time to sink in to a new book. Instead of pinning fitness work-outs, I'm going to go outside and break a sweat. Instead of buying a new pair of shoes, I'll take that money and put it towards paying off my credit card bill or saving up for an international trip..
What I'm trying to say is that we should all take a moment to reevaluate our lives. To remember what we were once passionate about and stir up that fire again and work intentionally to keep the flame lit. It's time to be intentional about living and loving life again. So won't you join me in finding something to put your intentions and passions in this year? It'll be our best year yet!
