Happy Monday! Just wanted to share with you all a few of my recent purchases over the past month in preparation for Fall and this coming Winter. I purchased most of these items either on sale or with a coupon code, so they shouldn't burn a hole through your wallet!
I finally splurged on this Patagonia down jacket-- and I use the word splurge very lightly here. I scoured the internet for this perfect puffer jacket and ended up getting mine from Amazon for $279 but I've linked it here for a sale price of $195. Since it's a down coat, it's packed with feathers to keep you warm. I wore this jacket the entire time I was in Pittsburgh and stayed super toasty! The material seems pretty durable and I'm sure this jacket will last me for years to come!
Are these boots not sick?!?!?!?!?! Over the Knee boots have really picked up this year and I can understand why! They come in all sorts of fabrics, colors, heel heights, and styles. I decided to stick to a more classic style with a slightly chunkier heel, lace up detailing and suede fabric. I wasn't too eager to shell out $$$ for a pair of Stuart Weitzman pair of OTK boots, so I kept searching for a more reasonably priced pair. I order this pair from ASOS during their Black Friday promotion but they have unfortunately sold out since then (but still available in taupe). If you're still on the hunt, check out these options here (under $100 + free shipping), here (free shipping + additional 25% off), here (free shipping), and here ($50!!!). Enjoy!
My aunt got me this bag while I was in Pittsburgh and I'm so thankful she did. I always end up bringing back lots of souvenirs and new purchases whenever I travel and my other satchels and totes can't always hold it all. This tote is huge but still small enough to fold over and fit underneath the seat in front of you on the plane! Plus, you practically get two bags for one since it's reversible. They're on sale now for $22. Go ahead and grab a few!!
This felt fedora from Aldo Shoes is actually one of my all time favorite purchases. It was one of those purchases that you consider in the store, walk away, then come back and get! It's such a beautiful bordeaux color and the rim is fairly stiff (I'm not a floppy hat kind of girl.) I picked this hat up while i was in Pittsburgh and I kid you not, this one guy kept asking if I wanted to sell it to him! He had to have asked me about six or seven times! I haven't found the right outfit to wear it with just yet, but believe me, when I do I'll be sure to post about it here!
I was desperate for a new purse while out in San Diego and picked up the one above from Forever21 while I was out there. It's no longer available online but I've linked a few more stylish and similar options below!
I hope this serves as a little "pick me up" for you all today! Have a good one and I'll see you back here tomorrow for a new travel post!
It's Monday again, so that means an all new #SimplyMondayMusings post! I've had home decor and apartment styling on the brain as of lately and I'm really ready to get out of my current space and into someplace fresh & new. With that said, it's never too early to start planning, right?
I've got this thing for white furniture. It's crisp and clean, just the way I like it! Plus, it's an easy backdrop to add color, texture, and unique pieces to. Not to mention, it's far from overwhelming. It's a sleek look that never goes out of style.
Take a look at some of the things that are helping me define my home style!

Can you believe November is here already? That means department stores now have all the Christmas decor out and 2016 is literally right around the corner. Or, if you're like me, you're thinking the start of this month is an opportunity to "get it right" again. As I get older, I'm trying to do more things with intention. There are so many things I plan to do, but I never really follow through. Obviously so, because I wasn't doing it with intention. So, with a whole month to go, I will be trying my best to do things with intention! Check out some of the things I plan on accomplishing this November below!
1) Consistent Bible Study
Of course I go to church on Sundays and small group on Fridays, but sometimes I just feel like I'm not present enough. It's like The Lord can't really get to me and that bothers me! So this month, I'm making it my task to find new church resources. Whether it's a new Bible study, YouTube page or podcast I'm searching for it!
2) Improved Health
I use to be really active when I was younger. Gymnastics at age 3, dance ages 7 to 13, tennis age 10, basketball ages 11-17, yoga ages 18-23. Nowadays, I'm lucky if I even see a gym! Instead of sitting on my behind all day, I'm taking on the infamous 30 squat challenge to get up and moving! And this time, I'm being very intentional about it. Nobody likes a flat backside! Check out Lauren Gores Ireland's killer booty workout plan here!
3) More Knowledge
I'm still praying I can make it to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil next August. And if/when I make it there, I've got to know enough of the language so I don't seem like such a tourist! Plus, Portuguese is a beautiful language. I've been using Duolingo for a while to help me, but I'm searching for newer resources. If you know of any, don't hesitate to comment below!
4) Books, Books, Books!
Ya'll, I have four new books I need to get started on. A book a week sound good? Yes, I think it does.
5) Better Blog Content
Since I'm technically "working from home" now, I've got t start putting more and better content out there for all of my lovely readers (yes, I'm talking about you!). As of lately the blog has been a bit travel heavy, so I'd like to incorporate more style and recipe posts. I'm developing some new content just for ya'll! Yay!
With everything I plan to work on this month, I have to remind myself to do it all with intention. Maybe that means I need to create a schedule or just tackle the tasks head on. Whatever it may be, I'm excited to get started! What are some things you plan on doing with more intention this month?
Hola, hola!! I hope you all are having a great start to your week! I just got back from Texas yesterday afternoon and can I say, I am sooo happy to be out of the rain! Hurricane Patricia brought in some serious periods of rain while I was in Houston/College Station last week. Sending prayers to all of my Texas & Mexico readers (if I have any LOL) as you all deal with the remnants of Hurricane Patricia.
Since today is Monday, it's time for a #SimplyMondayMusing post! If you're new to the blog, each Monday I post about things that caught my attention over the week. It can be anything from new books to read, shows to watch, recipes to try, or things I want to try. Today's post is all about positive affirmations!
Life really is what you make it. And living a happy and positive life comes from speaking positive things. You've got to put good out to get good back! Use some of the affirmations from today's post to help you out this week! Stay positive and be in good spirits!
