Pizza holds a special place in my heart. It's that one constant in life! Birthday parties, school parties, rainy nights and movie dates all have pizza in common. It's just one of those things that honestly, rarely ever disappoints me so I try to always keep it around!
This pizza dough was super easy to make! It only calls for 5ish ingredients (is water an ingredient?) you more than likely already have in your pantry. The dough comes together so nicely and is far better than any delivery or frozen options.
Now it's time to add your sauce and toppings! I used a homemade marinara sauce I created earlier that week and kept my toppings simple-- cheese and pepperoni! You can always use a pre-made sauce if you don't have time to whip one up. My recipe is quick and easy and can be used for pasta too!
Sauce Ingredients: 1 can petite diced tomatoes + 1 can Hunt's sauce (Basil/Garlic) + 1/4 white onion (minced) + 3 cloves of fresh garlic (minced) + 2-4 TBS Italian seasonings, 3 TBS olive oil.
Directions: Oil your skillet and place on medium heat, sauté chopped onion+garlic until somewhat translucent (7-10 mins), add in entire can of diced tomatoes (even the liquid!)--let cook for 10-15 minutes, add in canned sauce+Italian seasonings. Cover and let sauce simmer for 20 minutes on low-medium heat. *If you want a smoother sauce, let sauce cool down and then puree in blender.
Be sure to brush your pizza crust with olive oil before baking. Pop your pizza in a 400 degree oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
Share your pizza with your guy or your best gals this Valentine's Day weekend! Enjoy!
