Pittsburgh. Home to the three sister bridges and the city where three rivers meet. The city that produced more steel than all the allied axis powers combined during World War Two. The newest city I have fallen in love with! I took a little trip up north a few weeks ago to visit family and explore this beautiful city. I had an absolute blast! This was my first trip to Pennsylvania and I was so worried about being cold during my stay. I was checking the wether every day as far as 2 weeks out! I bit the bullet and purchased this Patagonia down coat to be on the safe side. After being delayed for almost an hour on my flight to Atlanta--not to mention a very brisk walk to my Pittsburgh bound flight--I was finally in the air. I honestly did not know Pennsylvania has so many hills and mountains. Clearly I was not paying attention in 8th grade geography class! Out of everywhere I've traveled so far in life, this is by far the most beautiful view and picture I have ever taken in my entire life. It's frame worthy, don't you think? You can see Heinz Field, the famous three (yellow) sister bridges, the convergence of the Allegheny, Monogahela, and Ohio rivers, as well as Pointe State Park. There are photos posted all over the place with Steeler players and coaches-- it's a spot they visit frequently! My aunt picked me up from the airport and took me to the cutest little Mexican restaurant (forgot the name!). She clearly knows the way to my heart. The decor and style of this little place is too cute! It's so vibrant and colorful. The good vibes were definitely flowing well in here! Once we devoured as much Mexican rice and quesadillas without exploding at the table (because that would be bad) we made our way to some shops around the city. I snagged the cutest pair of denim overalls from Target and decided to rock them while touring the downtown area the next day. Before heading in the city, I grabbed breakfast with family at this cute place. They were scattered around the area so be sure to stop by if you're in the Pittsburgh area and surrounding areas! How fun is this wall? After catching the tail end of the local Veterans' Day parade downtown, I was able to cross one place off my list of places to visit. I always make a list of areas and places I want to visit when I'm in a new city, and The Pittsburgh Popcorn Company was at the top! I loooooove popcorn. It's just one of those snacks that you can jazz up or down and either way it's going to be tasty. I played it safe and stuck with the classic movie theater butter flavor! Here's a panoramic picture of all three famous yellow bridges in Pittsburgh. Just roaming around on the bridges and the river walk was so much fun! It was such a pretty day out so I was snapping picture after picture. I even took a chance and snapped a picture in the middle of the Andy Warhol bridge!
Be sure to visit the blog tomorrow-- I'll be highlighting my time at the Heinz History Center and fun times at the Steelers vs. Raiders game! Have a great Tuesday! xo,
